A Carol Burnett Christmas (2012) – By Jason S. Lockard

When you hear the name Carol Burnett you think those amazingly funny shows with Harvey Korman, Vicki Lawrence, Tim Conway and Lyle Waggoner. As well we probably should, but Carol didn’t just come in to CBS offices and say, "I want to make an hour long variety show" and the executives said, "what day would you like." Carol had to make a name for herself first; and she did that on The Garry Moore Show.

I received the DVD of A Carol Burnett Christmas from Legend Entertainment Alliance and to say the least I was ecstatic. As a fan of the old classic TV shows this is a Christmas dream come true. What better way to spend Christmas than with the comedy of Carol Burnett, Garry Moore and Jonathan Winters; than throw in the singing of Julie Andrews and gospel legend Mahalia Jackson. This is a big colorful package of fun complete with a big red bow.

This DVD features 3 full length Christmas episodes of The Garry Moore Show Christmas 1959, 1960 and 1961. I never got a chance to see the Garry Moore Show and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The Comedy still holds up today and the music is as good as it ever was. The quality of the audio and video is pretty good compared to many 50s and 60 programs I’ve seen on other DVDs.

So if you want to discover the birth of the comedy legend of Carol Burnett you can’t find a better collection that this one. If you get this DVD no doubt it will become a Christmas tradition in your house. So head over to www.CarolBurnettChristmas.com and pick up your copy today and have yourself a very Carol Christmas!
