A Cup of Coffee (2013) – By Misty Layne

Awww, guys! This short film is adorable and I loved it! Just about three minutes of wit and fun, it’s perfect. Things are kept simple – it’s just a couple of shots – but the dialogue is fast and sharp. Seriously, it’s just too much fun.

A daughter is home for a visit and listens as her father explains to her that her mother has had to go away to a “farm” because she’s distraught over the fact that the daughter is a whore. Just for the record, she’s a horticulturist, y’all. *giggles* What follows is a back and forth repartee full of jabs and barbs and fun. I love the dynamic between the father and daughter here and Sarah Nadeau and Kenny Pedini are great as the duo.

This is the stuff short film dreams are made of and I highly recommend it.
