Film Reviews: Cyn (2007) - By Duane L. Martin
Posted on Sunday, July 01, 2007 @ 00:05:00 Mountain Daylight Time by Duane

Alex Ferrari is one of those directors where you come to expect excellence in everything you see from them. His latest short piece, Cyn, is certainly no exception.

Cyn is really just one short, five minute scene that I would love to see made into a feature length film.  It revolves around two thugs who've kidnapped a hot girl named Cyn. They don't know why they've been hired to kidnap her, but they seem to have no problem in expressing themselves and discussing the situation.

The dialogue and action in this piece is very reminiscent of films by Quentin Tarrantino and Robert Rodriguez. It's sharp, quick, witty and extremely well acted. The look of the film is phenomenal, and the editing, angles and visuals all suit the scene to perfection. One part actually had me laughing in shock, because I wasn't expecting it. It takes a lot to surprise me, and looking back on it I probably shouldn't have been surprised, but still it was hilarious.

Since the piece is so short, there's not really a lot I can write about it other than to say it was yet another piece of absolutely brilliant work from director Alex Ferrari and his cast and crew. I really can't wait to see the feature length film now. I just hope it comes sooner rather than later.

If you'd like to find out more about this film, you can check out the film's website at http://www.alittlecyn.com.
