Film Reviews: No Rest For The Wicked (2007) - By Nic Brown
Posted on Friday, February 29, 2008 @ 23:05:00 Mountain Standard Time by Duane

Mark Smith from Optic Nerve Productions 2002, has a knack for telling a lot of story in a very short time. The latest short film from the prolific British filmmaker is No Rest for the Wicked. While working from home, a business woman has an encounter with the world of the supernatural. Why is she seeing strange visions? What has she done to deserve the disturbing images she is forced to see?

No Rest for the Wicked is a morality tale that speaks of the importance of taking responsibility for one’s actions and all of the consequences. The short stars Tracy Smith as the business woman and Madeline Holland as the young girl in her visions. Although limited by the constraints of time during the film, both Tracy and Madeline are able to provide their characters with emotional depth. The viewer feels the growing sense of tension and fear in Tracy’s character as events unfold.  Although only filmed for about $200 and clocking in at just under ten minutes, No Rest for the Wicked is a solid short that explores issues of guilt and responsibility, but with a supernatural twist. So check out No Rest for the Wicked at www.opticnerveproductions2002.com where it can be viewed at no charge.
