When most people think of the South, what probably springs to mind is a specific scene from Deliverance. Well, as someone who's spent a great deal of time in the South, I can honestly say that it's not really like that. Never once have I been made to 'squeal like a pig'. Well, a new movie by Patrick Roddy might give you a totally different view of the South. It's Good Boy and it's a strange and twisted view of rural communities.

Our story begins with Max, a working in a small town department store with dreams of escaping to California. When Max makes the decision one night to steal the store's daily deposit and run west, he's unknowingly making one of the biggest mistakes of his life.

Max's route takes him through another small town in Louisiana, a town run by Harley, a dark man who drives the roads in a Camero SS. When Max discovers Harley's secret in a seemingly abandoned house, Harley decides to make sure that Max can never tell anyone!

Good Boy is really a look at how one bad decision can lead you down a path you never intended or imagined. It's a tale of karma catching up with you quickly and in spades! While not gross or gory by any means, Good Boy will still have you on the edge of your seat as Max plays a deadly game of cat and mouse with locals as he tries to just get back out of town. I'm giving Good Boy 4 out of 4 cigars, it's well written, the acting is great and it will definitely make you think twice before stopping to gas up in any small towns!
