Film Reviews: Bikini Frankenstein (2010) - By Duane L. Martin Posted on Sunday, January 31, 2010 @ 23:05:00 Mountain Standard Time by Duane
Well, this film started out about how I expected it to - with a soft core porn scene between a Debbie (Alexas Texas), a super hot blond in a schoolgirl outfit, and her teacher, Dr. Victor Frankenstein (Frankie Cullen), who just before that had been talking about a brain transplant. Turns out, everyone else left while he was talking to go to a pep rally for the Dean's funeral, even though he wasn't dead yet. Naturally another teacher walks in on them, but heaven forbid he say anything...oh no! He stands there and watches them. The only thing you don't see here is actual penetration, even though it's happening. I'm wondering at this point why they didn't just make it a full on porno.
Anyway, the douchey peeping tom teacher named Clive (Tony Marino) goes and gets the principal and tells him to go check Dr. Frankenstein's class to see what's going on. Apparently he and Frankenstein have had a rivalry for a long time, and apparently the principal will frown upon Dr. Frankenstein banging the hell out of Debbie on his desk. It's actually rather comical when they walk in on them. Especially since it turns out that she's the Dean's daughter!
Anyway, that was the first scene. The second scene takes place five years later at his castle in Transylvania. He's, and I know this will come as a huge shock, but he's having sex with yet another hot blond, who as it turns out, is his air headed lab assistant Ingrid (played by the uber hot Brandin Rackley)! So far there's been maybe a two minutes of actual film and the rest has all been soft core porn. I'm sure you can see where this is going. Still, the bits of actual story have been pretty amusing so far and the girls are incredibly hot. I 'm just thinking they might as well have just made a full on porno with a story and been done with it.
Ok enough of that. Let's move on to the actual story part. Basically, there isn't much story, but here it is. Dr. Victor Frankenstein was teaching at a university until he was caught banging the Dean's daughter. After that he was fired and went back to his home in Transylvania, which, surprise surprise, happened to be this creepy old castle where, along with his beautiful assistant Ingrid, he brings back to life a dead girl he calls Eve (Jayden Cole), who happens to be extremely tall and also very hot. Two lesbian sex scenes later, they all head back to America so Victor can shove his discovery in the faces of the Dean and Clive and everyone else who doubted him. Several more sex scenes and a little more story later, the film culminates in a three way lesbian sex scene where Eve gets over stimulated and basically disintigrates.
I'm sure you get the idea here by now about what kind of a movie this was. However...
Sandwiched in between all the sex scenes was an actual story, and I have to say that the story was actually...quite amusing. Silly, but amusing. Basically Dr. Victor Frankenstein, as you might have guessed, wanted to bring the dead back to life, but when he was kicked out of the university for screwing the Dean's daughter, he went back to Transylvania to continue his experiements, and finally succeeded five years later, when on a stormy night, he raises his giant rod (lightning rod) and brings Eve back from the dead. She wasn't pieced together or anything, and while she had highly sexual (mostly lesbian) tendencies and couldn't talk, at least she was alive. They then took her back to America to show the Dean and the others that they were wrong and that his experiment worked.
Now surprisingly, the actual movie parts of this movie were quite fun and had a great look to them. The set design was great, the CGI was quite good, the costuming was great, and everything was beautifully shot and well lit. The dialogue was cheesy, as would be expected, but the actors all seemed to just "get it" and delivered that cheese with a healthy dose of fun.
If this movie had all the sex scenes cut out of it and strictly stuck to the story, it'd be a short. Yes, that much of the movie is sex scenes. However, the sex scenes are really damn hot and the girls are just incredible. The thing is, you have a choice whether to watch them or not. If you want to see them, great. If not, then there's a fast forward button on your remote, so you can skip around to the story parts of the movie.
The technicals of the movies are all well done, as I've already as was the acting. This is a quality production in every way, and the actors all look like they had fun making it, which is important. You can tell if a cast isn't enjoying themselves, but obviously, and for obvious reasons, these folks were.
In the end, this was more porno than it was movie. I honestly would have preferred it if it has just been a full on porn flick with a story. It was 99.9% of the way there. Might as well just go that extra .1%. Still, it was fun and entertaining, and if you like these kinds of films, then this is one you'll definitely want to see. If you're uptight and can't handle all the sex, then skip it.
There's really no info on the website about the film (or about much at all really. It's pretty sparse over there,) but you can head on over to the Retromedia website anyway to check out whatever's going on over there and see what's coming out soon.
