Film Reviews: Addicted to Murder: Tainted Blood (1998) - By Brian Morton
Posted on Monday, March 01, 2010 @ 23:11:24 Mountain Standard Time by Duane

In the first Addicted to Murder, serial killer Joel Winter moved from disturbed psychopath to vampire and then, seemingly, to vampire hunter. Well, I had high hopes for the second part of this movie, and, I hate to say it, but I was a bit disappointed.

At the end of the original Addicted to Murder, we wondered what might happened to Joel, but here, in part two, we follow a new character on a dark journey, Tricia, who's searching for something and finds something she didn't count on. Some of the original characters are back, Rachel (the vampire who mentored Joel in part 1) returns in part and Sasha Graham returns as the very sexy Angie, but it's the story here that disappointed me. After a very strong original, I was expecting more from this sequel, and the story became a mess pretty fast and never really recovered. Tricia's story is good, but never really has a satisfactory resolution, Joel appears but never really accomplishes anything and, in the end, the story just seems to wallow around with no real direction.

I'm giving Addicted to Murder: Tainted Blood 1 and a 1/2 out of 4 cigars, it's pretty disappointing second entry to the series, but I have to hold out hope for the third part! You can find out more about the Addicted to Murder series by going to the Brimstone Media Productions web page.
