Tex (Rodrigo DeMedeiros) is a gunslinger in the old west, but he's not out to prove he's the fastest or the toughest, he's out to kill vampires...even the one he once loved, Elisabeta (Svetlana Soutirina), the madame of a whorehouse full of sexy vampires.

It's a short description of the film, and yet, that's all it really needs since the film itself is a short and the above description aptly describes what the film is about.

Coming in at just under thirteen minutes, this film is packed full of dark imagery and full on action.  There's a whole lot of awesomeness packed into just thirteen minutes.  I've seen other films that tried to do it, and ended up lacking.  This film is a great example of how to do it right.  While this film could easily be turned into a feature that would fill in various aspects of the story, having it in short form really concentrates the action and hits on the key points without getting overly chatty or embroiled in long explanations of past events.  There are arguments to be made that a feature would have worked better than a short for a film of this caliber, but honestly, I think that because of the talent involved here, it would honestly work well either way.

One of the most striking things about the film are the visuals and the use of lighting.  The lighting was expertly done and created a dark, shadowy look without obscuring the rest of the visuals.  The camera shots were set up with an equal deftness.  The angles used and the expertly filmed action sequences were taken to even greater heights by the quality of the editing.  All in all, this was a highly polished, extremely well made film.

I think my only complaint about the film would be that Rodrigo DeMedeiros's performance seemed to lack passion.  I didn't feel the anger, hurt, resentment or anything else.  It wasn't a stiff performance, as stiff would be the wrong word.  One dimensional would be a more accurate description.  There just wasn't much depth to the character.  He performed his role in the action scenes incredibly well, but the emotional depth just wasn't there.  Despite that one small complaint, this overall, was an excellent film, and definitely worth your time to check out.
