Film Reviews: Sculpture (2009) - By Brian Morton
Posted on Wednesday, September 01, 2010 @ 17:30:56 Mountain Daylight Time by Duane

Art is a strange thing; it can speak to some people and drive others away. Truly, where art is concerned, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Well, a new movie from Shock-O-Rama, Sculpture, takes art to the next level...of horror!

Ashley is an artist who's returned home after the death of her father. But, she doesn't count of the trip home stirring long repressed memories of abuse! And, as she begins to deal with these memories, she's also given a job to create a sculpture of the 'perfect man' for her family’s fitness center. Soon, Ashley finds herself spiraling out of control and her dates are soon becoming pieces of her art!

Sculpture is a very weird little horror movie, dealing with childhood abuse and letting the victim become the 'monster' of the movie. Which means that you begin to feel bad for the person who you should feel is the 'bad guy', it makes for an interesting view. I'm giving Sculpture 3 out of 4 cigars, it's not perfect and it drags a bit in the middle, but it's still worth your time.
