At War with the Army (1950) – By Jason S. Lockard

After taking the night club scene by storm the comedy team of Martin and Lewis got the opportunity to appear on the big screen with parts in My friend Irma and My friend Irma goes west. After stealing the show in those to movies it was time for their own movie “At war with the army”. Now thanks to Film Chest Media Group this classic has now been digitally restored.

At war with the army follows Pfc. Alvin Corwin (Lewis) who is the low man on the totem pole, and goes from one mishap to another at an army training camp in World War II dragging his friend 1st Sgt. Vic Puccinelli (Martin) along for all the antics.

This was the first time Martin and Lewis starred in the film together. Now while it is the first it is far from their best, but it is classic none the less! Film Chest has restored this film in HD! The audio and video of this classic comedy is pretty good. There are some signs of specks in the film, but this film is almost 65 years old. Sadly there is no bonus features, but it’s a restored version of a classic comedy.

So if you love classic comedies! If you love Martin and Lewis! See where is all began on film with At war with the army! There is no better way to see this film than this newly restored version. Check out Film Chest Media group online at
