Black Coffee (2010) – By Brian Morton

With everything going on in the news these days with Anthony Weiner and his….well, his wiener, politics are front and center in the public mind. Well, it just so happens that our old friend, Tran Quoc Bao, is at it again and this time it’s a political thriller that really hits the mark. It’s called Black Coffee and it’s one of the best shorts I’ve seen this year.

The story here is about David, he’s a powerful Senator and he’s having an affair. Well, now David’s being blackmailed and if I tell you who’s behind it…well, that ruins the fun of watching a movie, doesn’t it.

Black Coffee is an excellent little movie, it’s a taught thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat, but it’s only 10 minutes long!! I’d love to see this expanded into a longer movie, because I couldn’t help but wondered what happened next!

I’m giving Black Coffee 4 out of 4 cigars, it’s a very cool short that’s well worth your time, and you can actually watch it for yourself by heading over to http://www.pov-films.com.
