Bury the Sky (2014) – By Brian Morton

Sometimes a movie is just like poetry…and when it is, it can be just as beautiful. That’s how I felt after watching Kyle Hytonen’s Bury The Sky.

A young boy with a slingshot is out shooting at things, when he shoots into the sky, and hits a cloud, that falls from the sky bleeding. In a panic, the boy drags the cloud to a hidden place and buries it. After he’s hidden the cloud, the other clouds, who have seen the death, begin to cry.

Bury the Sky is an interesting short that ends with a poem that echos the film, it’s a wonderful short that really deserves more attention, it’s thoughtful, beautifully photographed and tells a story that will have you thinking.
