Carnival of Souls (1962) – By Jason S. Lockard

There are some eerie films that just haunt you after you see them and they are not easily put to rest. Well, Legend Films has released one of those films with Carnival of Souls.

The film follows a young church organist Mary Henry who after a traumatic car accident, begins to have nightmarish encounters with ghoulish looking characters. Is this all just her imagination or are these vision even more real than she cares to believe? You’ll have to see the film to finds out.

Many draw parallels to this film and “The Shining” and while yes I can see it! Carnival of Souls has an eerie charm all it’s own. This DVD features not only the restored black and white classic, but also the all new colorized version. Than if that wasn’t enough there is the bonus features including an audio commentary by Mike Nelson, the original trailer in color and other classic horror trailers.

This is one of those films that all horror fans should see and if you see it once you’ll want to see it again and again. I highly recommend horror fans Head over to or your local DVD provider and pick up your copy today.
