Dynamite Comics has been doing a great job releasing books involving some classic characters of yesteryear. Now come the next series of exciting stories! This one is entitled Noir.
Noir #1 follows villainess the Black Sparrow who steals a moonstone from an exhibit, but instead of handing it over to who she was hired, she decided to hold out for a better offer and is taken to task for it! So who does she turn to, who else long time rival The Shadow. This comic boasts the uniting one of the first female superheroes Miss Fury with villainess, the Black Sparrow, but we don’t see Miss Fury till the end!
Noir #1 is written by Victor Gischler, illustrated by Andrea Mutti, colored by Vladimir Popov and lettered by Rob Steen. The colors are brilliant and the characters seem to jump off the page, but for me this opening story seemed a little slow, but I realize this is issue #1. My hope is that issue two really picks up and brings the intrigue.
In the final analysis while I wasn’t enthralled by this first issue it wasn’t enough to turn me off of this book series! This is just issue 1 of 5, I hold high hopes for Noir. At only $3.99 it is not a bad price to at least give it a try! So head over to www.dynamite.com to learn more about this release.
