Rogue Cinema Sleepover Girl – March 2013
All about Rosalind:
Age: A gentleman never asks and a lady never tells.
Location: Los Angeles
Some of my favorite things: Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens, my bull mastiff Govinda, a nice neat bourbon, a well balanced cheese plate and re-watching Arrested Development.
Most people would be surprised to know that I: have only been in the Pacific Ocean one time, even though I’ve lived in Los Angeles for over 4 years. I have an irrational fear of aquatic animals.
Hobbies / special skills: I love cooking and do so every day. Over the past few years I’ve gotten so good that I’m willing to let someone other than myself eat my creations. And while I used to sing competitively now I only sing in the shower.
Number of years acting / modeling: I’ve been professionally pursuing acting for over 7 years.
Favorite genre(s) and or film(s): I’m a huge nerd for scifi and a sucker for a classic Hollywood musical. But if I’m looking to waste a night alone with a bottle a wine a romantic comedy will do the trick. And although I love being in horror films I am way too much of a pansy to watch one.
Acting / modeling gigs that I’m the most proud of: As silly as it sounds I’m really happy with my entire body of work. Each project has affected me in unexpected and wonderful ways – often leading to other projects. I’m extremely lucky in that I haven’t regretted any role I’ve done or projects I’ve worked on. Although, I’ve been to some pretty horrendous auditions. I did do a video on youtube that went viral over night (How to Pick Up a Girl at the Gym – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyXplN23ALM) which was it’s own kind of insane fun and that I am very proud of.
What I look for in a potential acting or modeling job: I can easily get on a soap box about how important art is for a society and how an artist has a unique responsibility to serve and entertain society and how the perfect job challenges me as an artist and inspires me as a person…but acting in it’s purest form is people getting together and playing make believe. Acting is a collaborated art form so I also seek out jobs with people that I want to work with, who have a solid work ethic and sense of humor. At the end of the day: if it’s not fun, then why do it?

Rosalind, originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana attended Indiana University where she received a degree in Theatre and Drama, performing extensively throughout her 4 years there. After graduation she attended an in-depth acting seminar with the Moscow Art Academy where she studied both the Stanislavski Technique and how to drink vodka like a pro. She returned home to Louisiana working several years as an assistant casting director before moving to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career. Over the years Rosalind has mastered the refined art of waiting tables and retail, reluctantly excelling in both fields.
