Rogue Cinema Sleepover Girl - September 2008

Lennox Miller

All About Lennox:

Name:  Lennox Miller

Age:  Come on now, a lady never tells!  I will say that I am a older than 99.9% of people guess me to be.  I do not drink, smoke, nor do drugs, plus I stay out of the sun.  I think those lifestyle choices have kept me looking considerably younger than a I truly am!

Location:  Atlanta, GA

Some of my favorite things:  The color pink, mini-skirts, generally anything from Sephora, VH1 and E! reality TV shows, my self-confidence, M.A.C. pigment in Violet, 80’s music, Frederic Fekkai products, my intelligence, hosting gigs, guinea pigs, Shu Uemura eyelash curlers, my creativity, blond hair, chocolate, and knowing that I can do anything I put my mind to!

Most people would be surprised to know that I:
am working on my second Masters degree.  Do not let the blond hair fool you!   I have a Master of Public Health degree and work at a prestigious Public Health government organization in Atlanta (whose name I can’t mention), but I would like to shift career gears toward Marketing so I am back in school for an MBA degree.

Hobbies / special skills:  Besides acting and modeling, I enjoy blogging, writing stories and lyrics,  beauty products, decorating my house, hanging out with my boyfriend, listening to music and going to concerts, and playing with my beautiful twin godsons who are now five years old and my 18 month old super adorable nephew.

Number of years acting / modeling:  5

Favorite genre(s) and or film(s):  Horror, comedy, and no "chick flicks"—as girlie-girl as I am, I can’t stand chick-flicks!

Acting / modelling gigs that I'm the most proud of:  Being on the page across from Paris Hilton in Maxim’s April 2006 issue, explaining to Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America about dating and boys in the South, being on the cover our local Atlanta newspaper/magazine Creative Loafing.

What I look for in a potential acting or modeling job:  First of all, will the job itself bring me recognition, either via print ad or commercial, or do I just want to do it for the experience?  If I can answer "yes" to either of those, then I move on to sniff out a potential BS factor—i.e. is the company asking me to work for free when clearly they are a company with a budget?  Are they promising me the world with no company name or resume to deliver it?  Is the contact person hitting on me instead of trying to book me?—things of that nature.  In Atlanta there are a ton of "filmmakers" and "photographers" who are clearly not what they claim.  I remember one promised me that our zombie movie was going to Hollywood, Cannes, you name it . . . he obviously got so caught up with the plans in his head that he just never finished shooting the actual movie.  What a joke!  But, I’m very good at sniffing out the BSers now.  Anyway, I have a sixth sense about whether a job is for me.  I need to know there will be a real, tangible product like a commercial or print ad or great experience that I can earn some money from—not just a line on my resume.

Bio:

Who is Lennox?" you ask.  You know the song "32 Flavors" by Ani Difranco (and covered by Alana Davis)?  Well, this is my theme song! I have several personalities depending on the situation . . . multiple sides of me that serve their purposes well.  I am a total dork and I have a Masters degree in Public Health with a concentration in Health Policy.  I work full-time for a prestigious government agency (whose name I cannot mention!) as a Communication Specialist. I started my second Masters degree--an MBA--in January 2008 and am most likely heading into a career in Marketing.  Oh, and did I mention that I'm an actress and a model as well? :)  I absolutely love being on-camera!  My main acting interests are hosting and corresponding for television shows and documentaries, being a "Scream Queen" in slasher/horror flicks, and playing roles where I can showcase my comical, quirky  side.  My dream jobs would be to host a music, music video, or beauty/fashion show a la E!, VH1, or the Style Network.

I am definitely a girl of many hats, and I find a way for them all to fit nicely. I should mention, too, that I’m a rare Georgia native!  I was born, raised, educated in, and have never left Atlanta, and I adore my city!  Oh and I have a more extensive bio at http://www.lennoxmiller.com so go check it out!

Be honest, has a horror movie ever made you physically ill?

Yeah, and I puked!
Yeah, but I held it in.
Kinda.
No, but if I had been eating, it would have.
No, never.
