Cryptozoic Man #2 (2013) – By Jason S. Lockard

If you read my review of Cryptozoic Man #1 from Dynamite comics you know I wasn’t a huge fan of it! So why would I try issue #2? I’m willing to give comics a chance to get the story rolling! So I opened it up and started reading!

Cryptozoic Man #2 follows Jack Gimlin who is bailed out of jail by a mysterious industrialist who offers him the job of a lifetime…tracking and trapping the world’s most famous cryptids, who also happen to be portals to alternate dimensions. Meanwhile, the fur flies when Cryptozoic Man learns the fate of a loved one during a cosmic tea party. Yes you read that right a cosmic tea party!

I felt issue #1 was confusing my hope was issue #2 would clear things up and while there were some rays of light this comic is just muddy! The artwork is great, but the best artwork in the world can not save a bad story!

In the final analysis if you love the weird out this world kind of comics this might be for you, but I think the market is very, very limited here! For only $3.99 it is not a bad price to at least give it a try! So head over to to learn more about this release.
