Death Angel December (2011) – By Brian Morton

No one loves a great revenge movie more than me. Literally, NO ONE! So, when I saw Death Angel December in my inbox, I was giddy with anticipation. I couldn’t wait for this hot chick to begin taking her revenge on the evil people who’d done her some wrong. Well, after checking out the movie, I have to admit to some mixed emotions about the whole thing.

The story here is pretty simple, when December was a young girl, evil men broke into her home, killed and raped her mother and killed her brother, while December was outside hiding. Now, years later, December is still looking for these men in order to bring justice to them. She’s spent years training herself and is ready when she finds them. Then, posing as a hooker, December begins to pick them off one at a time.

Now, ordinarily, this would be enough for me to sit back and enjoy the violence, but Death Angel December is missing something. The bad guys are very bad and deserve what they get, but I was never quite sure why they’d killed December’s family in the first place. They seem to just randomly pick people to torture and kill, and December herself spends an inordinate amount to time pretending to be a hooker and then killing her ‘johns’…I was left wondering why, a woman who’s looking for bad guys wasn’t hunting evil pimps, since hooking seemed to be an easy gig to get in this town.

Now, it’s not all bad, the acting is pretty good and the effects aren’t bad, it’s just that the plot left me a bit flat, I never really got to know December so I could identify with her when she began her vengeance, and I never knew what motivated the bad guys to be bad guys to start with. Overall, Death Angel December left me wanting a bit more.

I’m giving Death Angel December 2 out of 4 cigars, it’s not totally bad, but it’s not the vengeance trail that I wanted to travel! Travel the trail with December for yourself by heading over to
