Doc Savage #1 (2013) – By Jason S. Lockard

He is know as The Man of Bronze. In the 30s and 0s Doc Savage’s adventures in comics and radio keep fans on the edge of their seats. Now in 2013 Dynamite Comics bring back The Man of Bronze for all new adventures.

In Doc Savage #1 writer Chris Roberson bring The Man of Bronze to the present day! Savage was raised to be the pinnacle of mental and physical perfection. He travels the world using science and sinews to right wrongs, aid the oppressed, and liberate the innocent. He doesn’t do this alone though, he has a team of associates at their headquarters high atop the tallest building in the world.

The talents of Alex Ross, Chris Roberson, Bilquis Evely and Rob Steen weave an introductory tale of Doc Savage that brings the Man of Bronze into our generation. The only issue I have with this comic is Doc himself! He doesn’t look very bronze and he doesn’t seem to stand out like I would have liked to have seen, but these are minor issues.

In the final analysis if you never got a chance to enjoy the adventures of The Man of Bronze, now is the time! Dynamite Comics have put together a great issue #1 and I look for it to only get better from here! At only $3.99 it is not a bad price to jump into the world of The Man of Bronze!
