I've seen both "Slither" and "The Benchwarmers" twice in theaters and I can't recommend either of them enough! I'm sort of pressed for time here (gotta get ready for work) but I just wanted to let everyone know that these movies rock!
Slither is in the spirit of 80's horror/comedy and homages some of my favorite horror/sci-fi films including: The Deadly Spawn, Night of the Creeps, and Invasion of the Body Snatchers. There's a lot of character development in this flick too and everyone involved turns in an awesome performance. (As for comedy, there's plenty of dark humor, and you'll LOVE the mayor of Wheelsy, who ends up being one of the film's main protagonists. I love when he flips out due to lack of Mr. Pibb! LOL!)
The Benchwarmers stars David Spade, Rob Schneider, and John "Napolean Dynamite" Heder as three men that grew up as losers in high school and are now fighting the good fight for nerds everywhere after they start a three-man baseball team to take on all the bullying little league teams in the state. I may see this movie again because it had me laughing from start to finish and it carries a good message. Kids are cruel and sometimes what they say and do to less-popular and nerdy kids does all kinds of emotional damage. Rob Schneider and company speak out against bullying and make America's (formerly) favorite pass-time fun again!
Well gotta go! Leave some feedback and let me know what you thought about these movies! _________________ Jordan Garren
