Well, this one definitely beats out Killer Nun in the cult section, but if you like quality kill scenes in a slasher, I highly recommend this one:

I originally saw the trailer for this at Universal, otherwise I doubt I would have known about it. It's about a small town terrorized by a psycho killer -- which leads to some great scenes, including some teenagers getting slashed up after the big homecoming game, a mental patient making a daring escape, and just some weird characters (anyone remember Robert Z'Dar from Maniac Cop?). Highly recommended though, it's a lot of fun.
