Brian Pulido, comics book author of over 200 comics, will walk the red carpet as a nominee of Spike TV’s scream awards 2006, the first annual televised event which celebrates horror, sci-fi, fantasy and comic books. Pulido is the founder of Chaos! Comics, creator of Lady Death and writer of many horror comics, including Texas Chainsaw Massacre, for which he is nominated.
Ballots were sent out to Spike TV’s SCREAM Awards 2006 Advisory Board, made up of respected and well-known members of the horror, sci-fi, fantasy and comic book worlds, and were responsible for advising on categories and determining nominees in each category. All films, television shows and comic books were deemed eligible for inclusion if they were released between June 1, 2005 to July 8, 2006 and were representative of the genres listed. Winners will be determined by viewer voting.
Starting now thru Friday, October 6, fans can vote for their favorites by visiting screamawards.spiketv.com.
“Should be a blast rubbing elbows with the likes of Rob Zombie and other horror icons,” Pulido says. “It’s amazing that there’s a show to honor comics on TV. Our industry is responsible for about half the movies that get made these days.”
Pulido’s nominations are:
BEST SCREEN-TO-COMIC ADAPTATION
• TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE
