PLANETFALL
When a military transport crash lands on a war-torn planet, competing factions seek the last, lost stockpile of the illicit psychic-power enhancing drug Psylenol. Set against a backdrop that combines the apocalyptic worldview of the Mad Max trilogy with the lawless antihero psychology of the Sergio Leone spaghetti westerns, PLANETFALL packs a visual effects-packed science fiction punch.
Starring Heidi Fellner (FALL INTO ME, GENERATION MASON) and Leitha Matz in breakout performances, the film also features Charles Hubbell (LIVING DEAD GIRL, VIXEN HIGHWAY) ,Troy LaFaye.
(GO TO HELL) and a special guest appearance by cult movie auteur Ted V. Mikels (ASTRO ZOMBIES, THE DOLL SQUAD, THE CORPSE GRINDERS) as Zitan President Arch Stanton. Also starring is Tyrel Ventura (son of Jesse!) as shady dealer Syrus Theed,
and the voice of John Levene (Doctor Who’s Sgt. Benton) as a pissed-off alien!
Writer-Producer Michael Heagle has been fascinated with filmmaking and fantasy since the age of two. He started shooting his own films in the fifth grade and has never stopped. Michael's film work includes Troma's GO TO HELL, the topical actioner TERROR REPORT and now his sci-fi westerner PLANETFALL.
As a performer Michael has been seen in the live series ATOMIC SHOCK THEATER and will be flexing new muscles as writer and puppeteer of a new TV pilot, described as a combination of THE MUNSTERS meet THE MUPPETS by way of THE LARRY SANDERS SHOW. Michael is also an instructor at Art Institutes International, Minnesota, where he teaches visual effects and other filmmaking related topics.
HERETIC FILMS releases PLANETFALL on February 17th, 2007. The deluxe DVD has over 2 hours of special features including an interview with Ted V. Mikels, a featurette on the film’s production design, behind-the-scenes, deleted scenes and much, much more!
