“Amateur Porn Star Killer” filmmaker Shane Ryan will be signing DVDs this Thursday, November 29th at 7:00pm at the renowned Rocket Video!
Other possible attendees include executive producers Nikki Nishimoto and Jeremy Williams, poster model Emily Nishimoto, and star Michiko Jimenez.
Rocket Video is best known for its unique selection of films, educated staff, and for featuring countless great artists over the years, including such legends as Ray Bradbury, Peter Falk, and many more.
This is the first DVD signing for both “Amateur Porn Star Killer” and filmmaker Shane Ryan, expect more to follow.
Already being called a “cult favorite”, this new controversial film is rapidly building word-of-mouth since its DVD release earlier this month. Many praise it as “very realistic and utterly unforgettable” (Film Threat), “a malevolent classic” (Sex Gore Mutants), “horrified me in a way that no horror movie ever has” (SkullRing.org), “unsettling, and downright mesmerizing” (Pretty Scary), “it looks like a real murder” (HorrorYearBook.com). Pop Syndicate says director Shane Ryan “has taken a short running time and simple plot and effectively turned it into something not to leave you for quite some time”. Blood Type Online raves about the “dynamic performances” and PollyStaffle.com says it’s “so close to being a masterpiece”.
Film Threat’s Excess Hollywood writer Doug Brunell went as far as to say “Ryan, while not the most well-known director, is one of the few truly bold ones. He films what others won’t even touch. He pulls no punches, and he is the reason artists sometimes get persecuted. Some people paint. Some write. Some make fake snuff films so authentic looking you think you may be arrested simply for watching it.” These quotes were pulled from notes Brunell wrote for the DVD earlier this year.
