The Robocop Trilogy was just released today and can be purchased for around $25.00 - $30.00 depending on where you go (remember.... Best Buy does price matches!). The set contains the extended cut of "Robocop" with tons of special features. Both "Robocop 2" and "Robocop 3" only contain a trailer but are featured in 16 x 9 widescreen with Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound. The box the DVDs come in is gorgeous too!
Also released today is the classic horror film, "The Creeping Flesh" starring Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. The DVD is bare bones, but the film looks beautiful and is still creepy as hell (at least it is in my opinion). That one is going for $19.99 at Best Buy (check Circuit City, they may have it cheaper....). _________________ Jordan Garren

Would that be with the additional gore? Like the Criterion cut? That sounds pretty swizzle. Needs me a copy of Robo-2, been a while since I last saw it. _________________ Josh Samford

You know Josh, I have no idea as I haven't watched any of those Robo DVDs yet. I assume it'll have the gore back in place and yet I have my doubts since there are four deleted scenes on the disc as well. I'll let you know after I watch it man. _________________ Jordan Garren

Well I watched the entire "Robocop Trilogy" yesterday (and just now realized how bad "Robocop 3" is). The original is indeed uncut, but I hardly noticed to tell you the truth (The disc says that the film is 103 minutes, but by the time the end credits started up, my DVD player said that the film was actually 106+ minutes.). I don't know why the MPAA made such a fuss. The biggest difference I noticed was during Murphy's death. The camera lingers a bit longer when he receives a bullet to the skull. All in all though, it's a great boxset and the movies look damn near pristine! _________________ Jordan Garren

Well, Murphy's whole death scene was completely different from what I recall of the edited version. I don't remember them showing it in as graphic detail, with all the squibs going off on his body and the hand explosion, although I think the hand thing was in the original, but it may have cut away faster. And man, I love that 80 degree turn the camera makes when Murphy recieves that final bullet in the brain, to cut that out was just a downright travesty.
The only other biggie that I recall was the death of the guy in the office, who had about 9,000 more squibs go off in that extra 12 seconds of film in the uncut version Anyway, it doesn't make it a totally different experience, but it's certainly much more awesome-tacular with the heavier doses of gore... but that's just me of course _________________ Josh Samford
