After years of beggin, fans of "Friday the 13th" are finally getting a decent release of the first 8 films in the series in a nice deluxe boxset. On September 28th, Paramount is releasing a 5 DVD set of the films, supposedly loaded with all kinds of goodies (audio commentaries, deleted scenes, perhaps even uncut versions of each film(?!!). I'll post more news here as I find it. _________________ Jordan Garren

Ahm... it's been confirmed that the set is a 5 DVD set Ed. The first 4 will contain two movies (with commentaries and such for the lucky films). The 5th disc will be a bonus disc with all kinds of extra features. Knowing Paramount though, this is going to be a horribly expensive DVD boxset....

Yeah I wish they'd all have their own disc (but I think Paramount's throwing two on each disc to save money... the cheap bastards!). What makes me mad is that there's no audio commentary for "Friday the 13th,"
"Friday the 13th Part II," "Friday the 13th IV: The Final Chapter" (would've been great to hear what Tom Savini would have to say about the effects in the film), or "Friday the 13th V: A New Beginning" (I really would've liked to know more about this much maligned film in the series!).
After buying this, all I need is ::shudder:: "Jason Goes to Hell." That one's pretty cheap now and has both the R-Rated and Unrated cuts of the film (though truthfully, I didn't see a huge difference between them). _________________ Jordan Garren

Every movie should be unrated and then just let the people decide what's appropriate for them and what isn't. The whole ratings board should be disbanded because it serves no other purpose than to be a censorship board. _________________ Duane L.
