INDEPENDENT FILMMAKERS RELEASE THIRD FEATURE FILM
Cave Women on Mars to premiere at The Heights Theatre - April 12, 2008
Two filmmakers from Minneapolis continue to live the dream with their newest release of Cave Women on Mars at The Heights Theater in Columbia Heights on Saturday April 12, 2008 at 6:30 pm.
“It is the future… 1987.”
These fateful words start us off on a journey to the red planet where two astronauts, Lieutenant Elliott (Daniel Sjerven), and Captain Jackson (Josh Craig), are on the world’s first manned mission to Mars only to find the planet to have an earth-like atmosphere, vast forests and stunning warrior cave women. As the two explorers become entrenched in the fates of the opposing female tribes, Lieutenant Elliott struggles to discover his destiny. Can he unravel the mystery before it’s too late?
Christopher R Mihm, writer and director, and Josh Craig, co-producer and actor, started their film careers in 2005 producing the multi-award-winning films, The Monster of Phantom Lake (2006) and It Came From Another World! (2007). Both films premiered at the historic Heights Theater. Cave Women on Mars continues the duo’s tradition of creating authentic black & white 1950’s-style films that are family safe (though not specifically geared toward children) and fun for all. Cave Women on Mars was filmed in and around the Twin Cities metro area using local talent.
The public is encouraged to witness for the first time this futuristic tale of out-of-this-world action, mystery, and romance. The WCCO Mighty Wurlitzer organ will be played live at 6:30 pm with the film beginning at 7:30 pm. Free cake will be served following the film with a special “on-screen trivia/sing-along” edition of the duo’s first film The Monster of Phantom Lake (free to all attendees) screening thereafter. Cast and crew will be in attendance for autographs and meet & greet. Tickets are $5.00 at the door.
Press passes are available. Please contact us as soon as possible with requests for press passes.
