I make black powder squibs, but I don't like to casually tell someone how, because they are dangerous in inexperienced hands. There is a safer alternative, that uses compressed gas. It is detailed here:

Yeah, that's a great page, seen it way back in the day when I was just searching up homemade FX tips, even though I've never so much as played with a camera That compressed air thing sounds like a safe and fun way to do things, just would take some time and experience to get things perfect. The only thing is, if you were say, trying to re-enact the boardroom scene from Robocop, I guess you would need about twenty insecticide/whatever bottles, am I right? I haven't read the page in a while so perhaps there's a way to go about the process other than just getting more and more spray bottles.
With no budget I imagine you make due with what you have, but if I wanted to shoot someone on screen, they're getting a magazine full Also another down point would be that I wouldn't imagine your actors could move around too much, being that a tube is running down their body in some way. _________________ Josh Samford

Yeah the black powder ones would be the way to go if you had to basically riddle someone with bullet holes. Fortunately, black powder is easy to come by here, so if I ever needed to make a squib, it'd be easy enough to do. _________________ Duane L.
