R-Squared Films

HungerCult Films Ltd
Press release 21/12/10
Hungercult Films debut feature ‘Where the Dogs Divide Her’, has been picked up by R-Squared films for distribution in 2011.

‘Where the Dogs Divide Her’ is a surreal ghost story/murder mystery

As an unborn child dreams, a nameless stranger sits in a bathroom, his hands bloodied and trembling as he ponders a double murder he has no memory of committing.

This man has no memory or known identity and in his efforts to find his true self, he is split in three separate components (three aspects of amnesia) and slowly unearths a horrifying family secret surrounding the unsolved violent deaths of his parents But before the he can come to terms with his crimes and escape this prison of the mind, first the killer must make contact with ghosts from a long-forgotten past - shadowy souls whose only purpose is to lure others into their hellish trap.

Where The Dogs Divide Her explores varied themes: nostalgia, loss of identity, and the ongoing psychological-war between desire and reason.

Cast: Jon Stoley, Noel Forsythe, Lienite Ozolina.
Directed by Martin Rutley
Written by Andrew Rutley
Produced by Kate Wimbury
Running time 105 minutes. Year of release 2011.

Hunger Cult Films came into being in 2009 when brothers Martin and Andrew Rutley decided they wanted to tell stories that went against the formulaic grain and soon realized that independent film would be their most potent means of delivery. "We made several 15 minute shorts" explains director Martin. "Then in July of 2009 Andrew came to me with an idea he'd first conceived as a novel, but he thought it had great visual potential, so we decided that 'Where The Dogs Divide Her' would be our first feature film."
