Highway to Heaven Season 1 (1984) – By Jason S. Lockard

Michael Landon had an successful run as Little Joe on Bonanza. He than transitioned into the highly successful Little house on the Prairie. You would think two in a row that’s the end! Not for Michael Landon. He than transitioned yet again and produced and starred in the spiritual drama Highway to Heaven. I received a copy of Mill Creek Entertainment’s release of The first season of this great show much to my excitement.

Michael Landon played Jonathan Smith an angel on probation trying to gain his wings. He has been sent to earth by "The Boss" to help people to do the right thing. One of the first people he helps is Mark Gordon (Victor French) a former cop. Now Mark wants to help him in his journey. So these two go from town to town on missions from "the Boss", leaving people better than they found them.

All 25 episodes in the first season are really good, but the ones to look for in my opinion are Highway to Heaven (Pilot Movie), To Touch the Moon, Catch a Falling Star, Dust Child, Another Song for Christmas, Going Home Going Home, The Banker and the Bum, Thoroughbreds (1 & 2).

This Mill Creek Entertainment release is one I’ve been waiting for, for a long time. This DVD set includes 5 disks with all 25 episodes uncut. I can’t wait till the bring out the rest of this series.

So if you want to see an uplifting, heartwarming and yes sometime heart breaking TV show that the whole family can enjoy; you can find one better than the first season of Highway to Heaven and for just under $15 it’s a steal! So head over to www.MillCreekEnt.com or your local DVD provider and get your copy and take a trip on the Highway to Heaven.
