In the Dark: A Horror Anthology (2014) – By Jason S. Lockard

Anthology comics are very nice. Stand alone stories that give you a lot of bang for your buck! Back in the day anthology books like "Tales from the crypt" and "Haunts of horror" were flying off the shelves, not so much today. Well, IDW Publishing has released a new anthology series entitled; In the dark: a horror anthology. Can it live up to it’s predecessor? Let’s find out!

This release comes in at over 300 pages of all-new original tales of terror, monsters and mayhem. Featuring an introduction by award-winning writer Scott Snyder. The stories in this humogous collection deal with everything from ghosts, psychic phenomenon, zombies, werewolves, aliens and so much more. The artists and writers are simply some of the best in the business today! There is not one bad story in the bunch.

The artwork is stunning and the stories keep you turning those pages! Between each story you get the old style page ads for mail stuff just like were in the old comics from yesteryear. Than there is a special pin-up gallery of horrifying images. There is talk of a possible volume 2 to this anthology! I personally hope they do it cause the comic book world needs more anthology comics!

It is good to note this graphic novel is not for children! This is a adult anthology! I highly recommend it though for horror, sci-fi and twilight zone loving comic fanatics. This is a must own! Head over to to learn more about this release.
