Into the Pit: The Shocking Story of Deadpit.com (2010) – By Brian Morton

Following your passion is something that can lead you down a path of a lot of work without a lot of payback. Trust me; I know a little something about this. Well, a new documentary from Rusty Robot Productions, Into the Pit: The Shocking Story of Deadpit.com tells the story of two guys who do just that with some modicum of success.

Wes Vance and Aaron Frye are a couple of horror fans, and back in 2005, they decided to start their own internet horror radio talk show, not knowing that they’d garner a cult following of their own. Now, don’t think that Wes and Aaron are just strange horror nerds, Aaron is getting a Masters degree in counseling (which can lead to some conflict between the two), these guys are just two normal guys from rural Kentucky who love horror movies and just needed an outlet to talk about it with someone other then themselves. But, after just a couple of episodes, they discovered that they weren’t alone. They began getting listeners and that led to getting some big name guests to interview! And I don’t mean just anyone, Wes and Aaron have interviews John Carpenter, George Romero and a ton more horror genre superstars!

Into the Pit is really the story of two guys who love horror movies following their passion and actually finding success doing it. It’s a story that you’ll love, even if you don’t actually love horror movies, who doesn’t enjoy watching someone follow a dream and become a success!

I’m giving Into the Pit: The Shocking Story of Deadpit.com 4 out of 4 cigars, it’s a great doc and made me want to surf right over to deadpit.com myself to subscribe to the podcast! Find out more by heading over to http://www.intothepitthemovie.com.
