Film Reviews: Eat The Rich: The Cannibal Murders (2000) - By Brian Morton
Posted on Thursday, November 30, 2006 @ 23:05:00 Mountain Standard Time by Duane

Ron Atkins definitely has his own style, and if you've ever seen any of his movies, then you know exactly what I mean. From the way the film looks, to the dialogue, to the music, Ron brings his own style to whatever movie he's involved with. In Eat The Rich: The Cannibal Murders, Ron does a riff on the Texas Chainsaw genre, and he does it with flair, style, humor and tons of gore and nudity!

Here's the story: A group of cannibals are killing people and eating them, however, they're eluding the authorities at every turn. The FBI is called in, and in a strange premonition, Atkins has them ruling out terrorists before September 11th ever happened! As the story plays out, we meet the cannibal brothers, who are a strange combination of the three stooges, Leatherface and Clint Eastwood. The story is a bit disjointed, but it's intended to be, zombies show up out of the blue, there's a pregnancy that only takes a couple of waves of the hand, and humor is just as prevalent as horror...maybe more so.

Eat The Rich: The Cannibal Murders isn't the best Ron Atkins has put out there, but it's still not a bad movie, while it's definitely a low budget affair, the love of the material is evident in everything. The sheer fun of this movie is worth overlooking it's small flaws, it's well worth the time, to check out this hard working filmmakers work. If you'd like to see Eat The Rich: The Cannibal Murders for yourself, or any of Ron's movies for that matter, then drop on over to Cut Throat Videos and check them all out for yourself. So, until next time, when I'll admit that I have actually eaten the rich...if we're talking about desserts, until then remember that the best movies are bad movies.
