Numb (2013) – By Brian Morton

We’re all fascinated by psychopaths. If we weren’t every crazy, violent act wouldn’t lead the news every night, and Dexter wouldn’t be nearly as popular as it is. It’s what goes on in the mind of someone like that that seems to interest us. How can someone think like that? What goes through someone’s mind? Well, a new movie from Vintage Image Films attempts to give us a glimpse into someone like that. It’s called Numb and it’s a pretty interesting short.

Numb is basically the inner workings of the mind of someone who’s just killed his girlfriend. It wasn’t a crime of passion, it wasn’t an argument gone bad, it was just something he felt like doing and had thought about for a while…so he did it.

Clocking in at just over 3 minutes, Numb is the perfect length for something like this. There’s no analysis, there’s no looking from the outside, just what’s going on inside the mind of this man as he first kills his girlfriend and then cuts her up and burys her. It’s pretty chilling and interesting. I’m giving Numb 4 out of 4 cigars, it’s a fascinating take on what goes on inside the mind of a killer. It’s a movie done with amazing skill on an obviously ultra-low budget and it really does deserve to be seen! You can find out more over at
