Pacsaw (2013) – By Brian Morton

Movies about making movies isn’t anything new, and I’m not exactly sure that’s the right description of the movie Pacsaw, but it’s as close as you’ll probably get.

The story here is about 3 friends who like making short movies. They’ve decided to make a feature length movie and set to work. The problem comes with their writer/director Chet. Chet seems to be okay most of the time, but definitely has something going on in his life. He’s late for shooting, he’s writing a script that never appears and talks to camera that aren’t there. His friends are worried, but aren’t sure what, if anything, can be done.

Here’s the problem I had with Pacsaw, I never really understood what was going on. Every time I thought I was starting to get it, the movie takes a left turn and lost me again. I won’t give away any plot points, but let me just say, after the first half hour the movie begins to feel like something that’s being put together on the fly.

It looks good, the acting isn’t bad, but the story is so convoluted and confusing that I really can’t say what I just saw! I’m giving Pacsaw 2 out of 4 cigars, it’s more of an art house movie than anything, it’s not for everyone. You can find out more by heading over to https://www.facebook.com/Pacsaw#!/Pacsaw.
