Pea vs. Carrot (2007) – By Brian Morton

Pea vs. Carrot is a particularly short movie (about 5 minutes) that will leave you thinking.

The movie opens with a girl beating up a young man on the floor of a kitchen where a party is going on. Well, then the movie flashes back (or is it forward) to the relationship between the two combatants. We see several quick scenes that show us that the two are indeed boyfriend and girlfriend, but as the short closes, we’re back on the floor fighting! The audience is left wondering if this whole thing is just in the mind of the guy, has he built up an entire relationship in his mind, only to find himself on the floor at the mercy of a vicious beating, or is it all true and this is the end of a fight? Pea vs. Carrot is a relationship movie of a different flavor, because there may be no relationship at all!

You can check out this cool short for yourself by heading over to the Elephant Dreams Pictures website for more info. I’m giving Pea vs. Carrot three and a half out of four cigars, because, while it left me wondering if this was a relationship movie or a strange comedy, it’s still pretty good. So, until next time, when I’ll be telling you about the beating that my wife gave me for spending all my time in front of the TV, remember that the best movies are bad movies.
