While in Wisconsin, at the It Came From Lake Michigan Film Festival, I had the chance to meet Lloyd Kaufman in person (after having the chance to interview him last month) and Lloyd handed me a DVD with a sneak peak of his upcoming movie, Poultrygeist: Night Of The Chicken Dead.
Now, being a Troma fan, I’m predisposed to like this movie to begin with, and with a title like Poultrygeist: Night Of The Chicken Dead, who wouldn’t?? But, this DVD had on it the first five minutes of the film, which Lloyd tells me will be released in February of next year, and I have to say, after seeing the first five minutes of the movie, this is sure to be a Troma classic! In the first five minutes we had nudity, a sex scene, the dead rising from the grave, gratuitous full frontal male nudity and a gory, bloody killing…and that’s just the FIRST FIVE MINUTES, and the killing is an undead hand ramming itself up someone’s ass and coming out through his mouth!! In other words, it looks awesome!
Now, the DVD also featured a couple of behind the scenes features, some stills from the movie, a bonus scene, the Poultrygeist trailer and two versions of the Poultrygeist music video. If you haven’t heard the Poultrygeist song, then you need to head over to the Poultrygeist My Space Page and listen to it for yourself, if it doesn’t stick in your head, then something might be wrong with you. So, until next time when I’ll try, and fail, to make as good a chicken joke as Poultrygeist, remember that the best movies are bad movies.
