Race to Freedom: The Story of the Underground Railroad (1994) – By Jason S. Lockard

After the mini-series Roots showed us the true story of slavery. The world began to view slavary differently. Race to Freedom is another account of brave slaves that wanted to be free and would risk their very lives to gain that freedom. Now thanks to Echo Bridge Entertainment everyone can relive this TV Movie event over and over again.

Race to Freedom follows a quartet of slaves two men and two women seeking freedom in 1850. They flee the tyranny of their North Carolina plantation and seek safety in Canada, via the Underground Railroad. This is a story of a perilous journey of heroic fugitives, and courageous conductor who will stop at nothing to gain liberty.

Race to freedom is a beautifully acted and well written account of a time in history we should never forget. They say "Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it!" Sadly this DVD has no bonus features, but that is the only fault I can find with this release.

So if you love historical movies as much as I do, I highly recommend you head over to www.EchoBridgeHE.com or your local DVD store and pick up a copy today! You won’t regret it!
