Ring of Fire (2012) – By Jason S. Lockard

It seems like Doomsday thrillers are all the rage now! Every time you turn around another end of the world movie is popping up. Well, Sonar Entertainment and Vivendi Entertainment got into the act with ‘Ring of Fire’ a 3 hour mini-series. Let’s take a look at this mini-series.

A volcanic erupts in a small town and Dr. Matthew Cooper and environmentalist Emily trace the event back to unsafe drilling done by the oil company owned by Emily’s father. They soon realize that the explosion is just the first in a series that could trigger the dangerous “Ring of Fire” containing most of the world’s volcanoes. This cataclysmic chain of events could swallow the Earth whole.

I think the story is good and the acting was not bad, the special effect are pretty good, but I feel like this mini-series could have been a lot better if the story hadn’t been drawn out so much. This would have been a better 90 minute film that a 3 hour mini-series.

Now the DVD includes a widescreen 5.1 surround sound really clear version of this TV mini-series. The bonus features include a sneak peek at Eve of Destruction, and sadly that’s it!

So if your a fan of doomsday thrillers by all means don’t hesitate to add this one to your collection. To find out how to get a copy for yourself visit www.Sonarent.com or your local DVD provider and find out how you can get a copy for yourself.
