Brooke Lemke – January 2008

Rogue Cinema Sleepover Girl – January 2008

Brooke Lemke

All About Brooke:

Name: Brooke Lemke

Age: 26

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Some of my favorite things: Filmmaking, acting, modeling, horses and figure skating.

Most people would be surprised to know that I: have never dyed my hair.

Hobbies / special skills: Figure skating, horseback riding, downhill skiing and water skiing.

Number of years acting / modeling: 3 years. I started to pusue it seriously in 2004 after I worked with William Shatner in "Invasion Iowa".

Favorite genre(s) and or film(s):
I don’t ever want to limit myself to a genre. I’ve done Sci-fi to Horror to Comedy to Improv and so much in between. I think each genre allows me to do something different. I like watching all genres since they make you react differently. I like to be scared as much as I like to laugh, so why limit myself to one genre? I will say my all time favorite film is "Singin’ in the Rain". It’s a classic and has it all; music, dancing, drama, comedy. I admire it since it’s from a time when actors were required to be a triple threat.

Acting / modelling gigs that I’m the most proud of: "Why am I in a Box?" by Silent-But-Deadly Productions, a production company I started with friends, Rachel Grubb and Heather D. Amos! It was my first time producing and acting at the same time along with doing a wide range of crew work. I was fortunate to have the role of the antagonist, especially since I typically play the protagonist. I’m also proud of my role as Eina in "Cave Women on Mars" by Christopher Mihm, a take off of the 1950 B films. I play the lead of the good blonde tribe. It was my first role as a lead with a love interest AND I had a fight scene with Rachel Grubb from the evil brunette tribe where I won. I also can’t forget my role as Lucinda in "The Telephone Game" by Jason P. Schumacher since it was my first time acting in Improv. There was an outline for the film, but no script.

What I look for in a potential acting or modeling job: Roles that take me away from reality. I refuse to be typecast as "good girl" or "girl next door" cause that is who I am in real life, doesn’t mean I’ll rip off my clothes for a role either. I want roles that challenge me and push me. There are no limits to the emotions we are given and I like roles that explore the whole range. I want characters that ride a mental and emotional rollercoaster and make the audience think and react. I also look to work with people who have ideas and are very passionate about them.

Bio:
Brooke Lemke is an actress/filmmaker/model in the Twin Cities. She came to Minneapolis from Iowa in 2005 after the opportunity of acting in "Invasion Iowa" with William Shatner. That experience solidified her decision to pursue a career in acting. She started by taking several classes here locally, and then focused on attending as many local auditions as possible. She immediately went on to receive several roles as a featured extra, and within a few months was being cast in principal roles and landed her first lead role in October of 2006. Brooke has also started an all female independent film production company called Silent-But-Deadly Productions with her friends, Rachel Grubb and Heather Amos. Her first passion is acting, but thanks to Silent-But-Deadly Productions she’s able to pursue her other interests of producing, directing, writing, crew work and so much more! Brooke’s goal is to learn as much as possible by doing as much as she can in front of and behind the camera in order to expand her skills as an actor/filmmaker to make her career a strong one and to inspire women in the process.
