See U Next Tuesday YouTube Channel (2015) – By Duane L. Martin

Ok, here’s the deal.  We don’t review YouTube channels here on Rogue Cinema.  I’m doing this as a one time deal for the channel’s creator Allison Lane as a personal favor…and because I run the magazine, so I can do whatever I want.  Anyway, please don’t send in requests to have your YouTube channels reviewed as well, because that’s just not something we do or something we’re planning on doing in the future.

Now, with that disclaimer out of the way, let’s get to the review.  Allison’s channel is full of comedy videos, including a continuously running web series called The Morning Bitch, which she does with her co-star Wade Foster.  Allison specializes in awkward humor, and that’s something she makes full use of in most of her videos to great effect.

Awkward comedy is one thing, but if you do a whole video that’s just awkward, it doesn’t really work.  You need to have a pay off at the end, like a punchline to bring it all together.  Fortunately, she knows how to give her videos the pay off they need, and more often than not she does it by leaving you with something even more awkward, which is quite often hilarious.

Aside from her talk show spoof The Morning Bitch, she has a wide variety of other comedy videos on her channel, ranging from random humor to fake commercials to rips on celebrities like Gwynneth Paltrow, which she’s been doing quite a bit lately.

The videos themselves have a very indie look to them and many are done in front of a green screen.  They’re often tight, well edited and get to the point without trying to throw in too much just because they had extra ideas rolling around.

If you’re looking for a channel full of short, comedy videos that are full of awkward fun, then look no further than See U Next Tuesday.  By the way, it’s called that because she’s been putting out a new video every Tuesday.  Funny how that works, huh?  Once you get all caught up on all the videos she’s posted over the past six years or so, you can keep up with her new stuff every Tuesday.
