The Dark Companion (2013) – By Brian Morton

Have you ever wondered what a puppet might be really thinking? Well, I hadn’t either until I saw The Dark Companion, now I’ll never look at puppets the same way again.

The story here is about a puppet who has a ‘dark companion’ that no one else can see. He thinks that he’s losing his mind, because there’s this black being that follows him everywhere he goes, but no one else can see it. What it really is, is his puppeteer! Yes, he can see the person working him, but he wants rid of him…and he finally manages to do it!

This is one of those shorts that will make you think about something you never thought you’d think about…ever! It’s dark, it’s funny and it’s one of the coolest things I’ve seen this year!

I’m giving The Dark Companion 4 out of 4 cigars, it’s a great short that made me wonder about the creative minds behind it…and wanted more from them! Find out more for yourself by heading over to
