The Maniacal Smile #1 (2013) – By Jason S. Lockard

I recently received a digital copy of the first issue of Fierce Comics really unique superhero The Maniacal Smile. From the cover you can tell this one is not your typical superhero. This isn’t Superman or Batman. This is something strange and off the wall!

Alex McClendon was born with ‘super’ irritable bowel syndrome, yeah you read it right. Now Alex dons his Maniacal Smile suit and uses his powerful emitting of gas to propel him into action and protect the city of Utopia from evil.

The Miniacal Smile issue 1 ‘Guts of a Hero’ is 24 pages of more or less a childish story written by Mike Foss and art work by Rob Rhine, Ben Filipiak and Tony Kordos. The illustration is the best part. The story for me just falls short of entertaining. You can buy a digital copy for just $.99 for your Android, iPad, iPhone, or computer.

In the final analysis I am not a fan of digital comics, but if you love digital comics by all means head over to www.fiercedigitalcomics.com and pick up a copy of the first issue of The Maniacal Smile.
