The Spider Annual (2013) – By Jason S. Lockard

When you think of comic books and spiders you think Spider-Man, but in 1933 long before Peter Parker burst on the scene there was The Spider. Now Dynamite Comics has resurrected the 1930s hero for all new adventures and I got the pleasure to review The Spider Annual!

The Spider is a vigilante hero very similar to the character of The Shadow. The Spider is millionaire playboy Richard Wentworth who had been a Major in the military. Now he is unleashing a one-man war on crime in New York City, but an elite squad of assassins have been sent to eliminate The Spider, but by who? Will the Spider rise above his enemies and continue to fight evil or will evil finally conquer?! You’ll have to read the comic to find out!

In this 30 page comic release the art work is stunning and the story enthralling. Which made reading this comic a real page turner. So if you love your heroes gritty and the violence a little more adult pick up The Spider Annual. At only $4.99 it is not a bad price! So head over to and pick up a copy of The Spider Annual 2013.
