The Three Stooges Live and Hilarious (2007) – By Jason S. Lockard

The Three Stooges are known mostly for their short film subject and their feature length films, but the Stooges made many TV appearances and with this new Legend Films release "Live and Hilarious" we can relive one of their classic appearance all over again.

Ed Wynn was a popular comedian on stage, radio and TV and later proved he could act with the best of them with his dramatic roles. He debuted The Ed Wynn show and won two Emmy Awards. Ed Wynn introduced the Dinah Shore and Lucy and Dezi to TV audiences. Well, on march 11, 1950 on The Ed Wynn show The Three Stooges showed up, and playing CBS TV executives no less. They were on the show to cut costs. This show was filled with music, laughter and special guest stars.

This DVD not only includes the restored black and white episode, but a colorized version as well. Than the bonus features a boat load of trailers and clips from other programs including 3 stooges on The Frank Sinatra Show. The show of Ed Wynn has never looked better than on this DVD, but sadly this half hour program is the only notable thing on this release! It would have been great to see more of The Stooges on TV, like TV pilot ‘Jerks of All Trades’ in restored and in color that would have made this release that much better.

If you love The 3 Stooges as much as I do, this is still one you have to have. Head over to or your local DVD provider and get a copy of ‘Live and Hilarious’ today.
