Transformers: Primacy #1 (2014) – By Jason S. Lockard

When I grew up like most kids from my era Transformers on TV was king! Nothing captured our imagination more than these ‘robots in disguise’. I’ve never read a comic of Transformers until this month, with Transformers: Primacy #1! Man have I missed out!

This is the start of the 3rd volume of the retelling of the wars for Cybertron, and if you’ve missed (like me) Autocracy and Monstrosity, this is still a good place to start. In this introductory issue The war for Cybertron is upon them! The line has been drawn in the sand! Sides are taken! Autobots face off against Decepticons. The legendary battle begins that will shake the Transformers’ world to its very core!

The talents of writers Chris Metzen and Flint Dille, art by Livio Ramondelli and letters by Chris Mowry bring a classic tale that will have you reliving your childhood much like I just did! I was fearful being that this is volume 3 I would be lost not reading the previous issues, but the story flows in and of itself!

If you loved Transformers as a kid and want to learn more about Cybertron history this is a great place to start. I highly recommend you head over to and find out how to get your copy today! You’ll love it!
