Tribes: The Dog Years (2014) – By Jason S. Lockard

Post apocalyptic comics, movie and television shows are all the rage right now! You can’t turn around without finding something starring you in the face somewhere. Well, IDW Publishing has released a new series “Tribes” that falls right into that genre. Let’s take a look at it!

The story falls in the year 2038, a NANO-VIRUS has shortened the human lifespan to 21 years. Civilization has collapsed and only a small number of humans survive in little tribes. One day Sundog of the Sky Shadows tribe find out there may be a new hope for a longer life? Is it a cure and if so where is it?

Micheal Geszel and Peter Spinetta weave together a compelling tale of adventure that combines elements of Mad Max and Y: the last man. The art work by Inaki Miranda and color by Eva de la Cruz is presented in a widescreen format much like that of Frank Miller’s 300 and it seems to literally leaps off the page.

First released in 2010! This brand new special edition of Tribes is just amazing! It is a hard cover graphic novel the front cover has a glossy feel. It includes 183 glossy pages of this amazing story. There all kind of additional artwork included in this book! This will have a predominate space on my comic book shelf!

So if you love post apocalyptic tales as much as I do; this is one you can not pass up! By all means head over to and find out how to get your copy today!
