Victory by Sea (1941-1959) – By Jason S. Lockard

World War II changed a lot of things. Set a lot of things right. And sadly a lot of men lost their lives in the fight. In this newly restored release “Victory by sea” Film Chest Media Group lets us remember the great victory that came in World War II.

Originally a 26 episode TV documentary series it has been pieced together into a fast-paced film showing us the sacrifice and a closer look at what our men and allies, and even enemies. A plus in this film is the narration by Alexander Scourby and scored by Richard Rogers of Rogers and Hammerstien. Awesome.

This film has been transferred and restored from a 16mm negative and looks really nice. There is an old statement that says if we don’t learn from history we are doomed to repeat it. All nations need to learn from this horrific war in history.

Film historians, history lovers and war film collectors rejoice this is a dream come true. While this DVD release does not come with any bonus features it still is a nice release. If you would like to add this to your DVD collection head over to or your local DVD provider today.
