Werewolf Rising (2014) – By Jason S. Lockard

With it being Halloween month, people are looking for new horror films to enjoy. Well, Image Entertainment and RLJ Entertainment are releasing on DVD a new werewolf movie entitled Werewolf Rising.

I love a good monster movie just like everyone else. Werewolves seem to take a back seat in the genre to zombies, vampires and psycho killers, which is sad as the werewolf is a tragic and horrifying creature.

When you hear the title Werewolf Rising you automatically think awesome. The film follows Emma a girl who needs a break from the big city and heads to her family’s Arkansas hills cabin. But what lurks in the darkness is more than solitude, when the full moon rises a bloodthirsty werewolf emerges to reek havoc on anyone in it path. Caught in the middle can Emma escape before it’s too late? You’ll have to watch the film to find out.

The Cinematography of this film is beautiful and the werewolf scenes are no bad. But the acting left a little to be desired and the story just felt like is was more talk less action and for a monster movie, you want the reverse. For me it felt like this werewolf movie was more bark than bite.
