Witch’s Brew (2011) – By Brian Morton

If you know Chris LaMartina (and if you don’t, you really need to), then you know that his movies are always fun, gory and wildly entertaining. Well, Chris keeps the streak alive with his latest Witch’s Brew.

When a couple of micro-brewers run over a black cat, they feel that it’s the least they can do to take the animal home and apologize to the owner. The trouble comes when the owner happens to be a witch, and she curses the beer that they have in the back of their car, ready to deliver! Now, anyone who drinks the beer dies in a terrible (and terribly clever) way. How will the cursed duo manage to beat the curse? I guess you’re going to have to find Witch’s Brew and find out for yourself.

Witch’s Brew continues a great streak for LaMartina, his movies are all fun, without taking themselves too seriously. Chris seems to set out to just make a movie that’s interesting, scary and, most of all, fun. I’d call Witch’s Brew an excellent drive-in movie…if there was such a thing any more, so I guess I’ll just call it an excellent movie! I’m giving Witch’s Brew 4 out of 4 cigars, Chris’ movies are always great, but this one is really put together well, the acting is great, the story is fun and it seems that LaMartina is on a roll….so, let’s get the next one if production!
